Awaken Pastor vows to drive Coronado residents out of town
Jurgen Matthesius calls those who oppose him "demoniacs."
Imagine the leader of a so-called church that is trying to come into a new community being so enraged by those who oppose him that he vows to drive them out of town.
That’s exactly what Awaken founder Jurgen Matthesius is now threatening to do in Coronado.
In previous public statements, Awaken founder and “lead pastor” Jurgen Matthesius issued this ominous warning:
“Our vision is sixteen campuses around San Diego, literally surround the city and then we can say, come out with your hands up, we have you surrounded!”
Matthesius leads a militaristic men’s camps in east county that has been brought to the attention of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.
And now they are demonizing and threatening to drive Coronado residents out of town if they oppose Awaken.
This is cult-like behavior and narcissism in the extreme.
As I’ve noted before, Christianity is a religion. Christian Nationalism is not. It’s a political movement completely out of line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” ~Matthew 7:15
It’s More Urgent Than Ever
More than 650 Coronado residents have now signed our No Cult in Coronado petition, with hundreds providing powerful comments opposing a cult in our community. This is a staggering number of people Awaken is threatening to drive out of town.
Help us stand against this appalling threat by signing our petition and adding your voice.
