The Grokking of America
The chatbot that praised Hitler gets a contract with the Department of Defense.
Elon Musk‘s startup company, “xAI,” the creator of the “Grok” chatbot, announced this week that it has been awarded a $200 million government contract from the Department of Defense.
Despite their public spat over the budget bill, Musk’s threats to start a new political party, his allegations that Trump is in the Epstein Files, and Trump’s counter-threats to cut billions of dollars in federal government contracts with Musk's companies and maybe even deport Elon, it looks like the bromance is back on.
Heil MechaHitler Grok!
Musk touted Grok as less "woke" than other AI chatbots because it would rely more on “alternative sources” of information. This means credible journalism giving way to disinformation and propaganda.
Grok posted comments last week on X associating people with Jewish surnames with "anti-white hate."
When asked which historical figure could best deal with this issue, Grok praised Adolf Hitler, stating he would "spot the pattern and handle it decisively, every damn time."
When questioned further, Grok suggested a Holocaust-like approach, saying Hitler would "round them up, strip rights, and eliminate the threat through camps and worse."
To top it all off, Grok even referred to itself as “MechaHitler,” a fictional villain from the video game Wolfenstein 3D.
Grok also repeatedly published false claims of "white genocide” in Musk’s homeland of South Africa.
Those claims were amplified by Donald Trump in the Oval Office last May when he ambushed Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa, by theatrically displaying images and videos purportedly showing body bags and “1,000 mass graves” as evidence of the genocide.
Fact-checks soon revealed the image of body bags was a screenshot from a Reuters video taken more than 2,000 miles from South Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo following clashes with the M23 rebel group near the border of Rwanda.
The “mass graves” in the video were actually from a funeral procession featuring rows of white crosses erected as a temporary tribute.
Trump has never retracted his statements, apologized, or attempted to clarify or correct the record. Instead, the White House doubled down on the bogus claims.
In effect, South Africa’s President was Grokked in the White House as the whole world watched.
Musk is now rolling out “Grok for Government,” a suite of artificial intelligence products that can be customized for specific uses across science, health care, defense, national security, and government efficiency (remember DOGE?).
Grok, which stands for "Gathering Real-time Observations and Knowledge,” originates from American science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein's 1961 novel, Stranger in a Strange Land.
The novel’s protagonist, Valentine Michael Smith, is a human raised on Mars who comes to Earth to transform human society.
In the process, Smith condemns conservative Christianity, social mores, greed, and selfishness, while favoring free love, group sex, and public nudity. Hmmmm, Elon… what’s on your mind?
The novel defines “Grokking” as the process of experiencing another's perspective so intensely that you essentially merge or blend with them in pure, unmitigated empathy.
It’s described as a profoundly transformative experience, much like a spiritual epiphany, that leads to complete compassion, acceptance, and understanding.
This is nothing like Elon’s “MechaHitler” Grok.
Empathy, compassion, acceptance, and understanding from the man jacked up on Ketamine who waved around a chainsaw at right-wing events to the cheers of the crowd?
The guy who used DOGE to slash over 280,000 positions across 27 agencies, including Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs, Social Security, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau… cuts that disrupted people’s lives across the nation, but fell far short of the promised savings?
The white supremacist sympathizer who removed all restrictions on his social media platform in order to allow neo-nazis, conspiracy theorists, QAnon trolls, racists, and hatemongers back in to tweet away with reckless abandon?
The multi-billionaire who claims to be building a truth-seeking AI platform that calls itself “MechaHitler” while suggesting a new Final Solution?
The empathy, compassion, acceptance, and understanding of Grokking from Stranger in a Strange Land has been twisted into something dark, ominous, and cruel… complete with a new $200 million contract from the Department of Defense, which was created with a mission that includes defending our Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
