The Tipping Point is Upon Us
This is what democracy looks like
American patriots taking to the streets across the nation, even in subzero temperatures, are bending the arc of history towards justice.
There comes a point when the obvious eclipses the party line. When the horror, brutality, and injustice begin to awaken those who have looked the other way, lent silent approval, bought into the lies, or backed a regime that fit their tribal view.
This moment has come following the murders of Alex Pretti and Renée Good, the chemicals sprayed in the faces of American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights, the aftermath of bald-faced lies by the administration, amplified by Fox TV and hordes of MAGA media influencers.
In the wake of the Milwaukee occupation, Greg Bovino, a small man with an oversized ego and penchant for violence, has reportedly been removed from his role as Border Patrol “commander at large.”
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, an ardent administration propagandist and bald-faced liar, is now on shaky ground.
“White House allies are increasingly blaming one person for the chaotic fallout of the Trump administration’s crackdown in Minneapolis: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The thrusts of the criticism are familiar, that Noem rushed to the cameras too quickly and sabotaged any independent probe into Saturday’s fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents. But this time, they’re occurring more publicly, as the White House takes steps to revisit its strategy in Minneapolis.” ~ Politico
Democratic legislators are pushing to defund ICE by blocking a funding bill this Friday that includes tens of billions for the Department of Homeland Security.
More Republican legislators are finding their spines, albeit largely motivated more by self-preservation in the midterms than moral conviction.
The people are proving that persistent, relentless, peaceful protest is the key to sustaining democracy.
The 50501 Movement is mobilizing for the ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action on January 31st.
