The Urgent Imperative of Persistence
Surrendering to tyranny is not an option
We the People are the Majority
We cannot look elsewhere for America’s salvation. We will not be saved by our politicians, our courts, or our institutions. There is no “other” to step up and do the work for us.
We the people are the obstacle to tyranny, the bulwark against repression, the protectors of our democracy.
Upwards of 8 million Americans took to the streets of cities and towns across America last weekend to participate in No Kings rallies. It was the largest national protest against a sitting president in our history.
This frightens them, so they must mock, minimize and mischaracterize to conceal their fears as they continue the deliberate destruction of our democracy.
The shock and awe is central to the plan
Insurrectionists are pardoned, political adversaries are indicted, the free press is muzzled, heavily armed, masked thugs are deployed onto the streets of our cities, a Nazi sympathizer is nominated, a wing of the White House is destroyed.
Each daily outrage is intentionally designed to numb our collective will, to slowly anesthetize us into unconsciousness as the dull knife of tyranny is plunged into the heart of our democracy.
Donald Trump is unpopular. His approval ratings are dismally low, his policies are anathema to most Americans, his presidency is failing. His authoritarian movement must push forward with lightning speed to secure his power.
We the people are the antidote to the shock & awe, to the injustices, the atrocities, the tyrannies. We are the majority. The critical mass. The true patriots.
The future of our democracy is in our hands
The fullest of commitments is essential to our success. A commitment to protest, to organize, to turn out the vote, to shout from the mountaintops that this land was made for you and me.
