Much of this blog has been devoted to exposing the hate speech, misogyny, prejudice, conspiracy theories, and disinformation spread by Jurgen Matthesius, the founder of the Christian Nationalist Awaken movement of San Diego who has called Coronado residents “demoniacs” and threatened to run us out of town should we dare oppose him.
By comparison, I’m sharing this inspiring talk by James Talarico. To me, it’s an authentic and compassionate Christian message worth a full listen.
James Telerico was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2018. He holds a Master’s Degree from Harvard and will complete a Master’s in Divinity next year.
I invite you to compare his tone and perspective with Matthesius, and come to your own conclusion about which man is more in touch with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
One man speaks of the power of love. The other displays the love of power. Which gospel would you choose?
